Photographers of Malta 1840-1990

As well as being a documentary on the art of photography, the book also offers an impressive view of Malta's historical heritage seen through the eyes of both local and foreign photographers. Whilst reading about the evolution of photography in Malta, one also learns more about the social and cultural progress of the Maltese islands and the people over the years.

Spanning 150 years and featuring almost 300 photographs (some of which have never been published), Photographers of Malta 1840-1990 is a remarkable collection of artwork and historical data, giving the reader a more visual perspective of the history of Malta.

Margaret Harker is a photographer and a photographic historian as well as Professor Emeritus at the University of Westminster. She refers to her book as "an adventure" now complete, and has expressed her delight with the Maltese people and the Maltese way of life.
