1992 - Antique Maltese Clocks

In 1992 Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, held their first exhibition dedicated to Antique Maltese Clocks, which provided a unique insight to an indigenous clock-making tradition.

The book takes the format of a catalogue raisonné illustrating and giving a historical background to the various types of Maltese clocks exhibited. The clocks vary from the Arlogg tal-Lira, with its unique niche-like case, decorative motifs and intricate gilding to other well-known immovable types such as the Turret clocks throughout the Island.

Antique Maltese Clocks
is the first in a series of Patrimonju publications and includes contributions by John Manduca, Giovanni Bonello, Patrick Formosa, Louis Busuttil, Lorenzo Zahra, Carmel Vassallo, R.H. de Burgh Wilmot, Frank Ventura.
