Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti (a Maltese Heritage Foundation) was set up in 1992 by a small group of Malta's cultural heritage
enthusiasts with the backing of Government. Its aim is to spread awareness of the islands' cultural heritage, through exhibitions, study, research and publications. It strives to ensure that the Maltese world class heritage is enjoyed both by the Maltese and the many visitors.

Patrimonju's particular talent lies in its rare ability to gather pieces from often priceless and treasured private collections for display to the general public. In its short life Patrimonju has acquired an enviable reputation both at home and abroad for its sensitive and exciting exhibitions.

The word Patrimonju is pronounced:
-Putt -(cut) -ri (rip) -mawn (mourn) -yu (you)
