Artist Vince Briffa discusses Contemporary Art, and jazz band Cusp perform on the 1st June 2012 at Palazzo Falson. This event starts at 8pm.
During the last thirty years, Vince Briffa has created work of a predominantly conceptual nature in a variety of media, ranging from drawing and painting to photography, video, and interactive installations for galleries, museums and other public spaces. His work negotiates the co-existence of dualities positing the ‘screen’ as the seam that holds together the boundaries of disparate realities.
CUSP is a trio of musicians that was formed earlier this year. They plays original compositions and jazz standards with original arrangements, drawing interest by moving away from the more traditional sounds. The band is made up of Luke Briffa on drums, Alan Portelli on bass and Jes Psaila on guitar, all of whom are not newcomers to the local scene. Each musician has a diverse musical background, yet all three members share a particular interest in improvised music.
