Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti is proud to announce that Jewellery in Malta - Treasures from the Island of the Knights (1530-1798), was awarded a first prize at the Malta National Book Awards (Il-Premju Nazzjonali tal-Ktieb), in the 'Works of Biographical and Historical Research in Maltese or in Another Language' section.

Published in 2009, this pioneering study by Francesca Balzan presents the history of jewellery in Malta through the art of jewellery-making, trade practices and social history.  This is the first study of its kind to tackle this topic, and the author made extensive use of primary sources to uncover more about this fascinating subject.
