In our latest episode of REWIND - Great Exhibitions Revisited, we take a look at the Palazzo Falson exhibition 'The Devil of the Brush - Speed as Artistic Virtue', held back in 2017/2018 and curated by Professor Keith Sciberras.
The exhibition celebrated speed and virtuosity and explored the exciting dynamics between artistic invention and technical brilliance through paintings, statuary, drawings, modelli and bozzetti executed by the major protagonists of Maltese art between 1650 and 2000. This was the first in a new series of exhibitions that moved away from the examination of objects for their type and function, and explored concepts and their manifestation in art.
